Countertop Installation

The thought of an entire kitchen remodel can be stressful for several reasons. The idea of being without a fully functional kitchen or picturing your house torn apart for an extended period of time, are two common fears that often cause people to postpone their remodels. For those who have such fears, there are some simple alternatives that can transform and improve their kitchen’s appearance and beauty, without the accompanying stress of an entire remodel. Simply replacing the countertops can often change the entire feel of a kitchen, and give it the updated look homeowners dream of.

New countertops can be changed with very little mess or downtime. The process of replacing the countertop can be started and completed the same day. Selection of the counter top, measuring, fabrication, sink and hardware selection can all take place before anything is removed or taken apart in your kitchen. After all the materials have been acquired and are ready for installation, the process of removing the old top and installing the new one can begin. Generally most all of the fabrication is done at the shop and not on site. This allows for a quick and efficient installation. Occasionally small cuts and modifications need to be made on site, but these are usually quick and clean. The new counter top is put in place and secured tightly in a few hours.

Planning ahead is the key to smoothly completing the project the same day. Contact a plumber to disconnect the water, so the old sink can be removed. Additionally, you may want to contact a drywall repairman as there may be limited damage to the drywall when the old countertop is removed. A drywall repairman or those removing the countertop can usually repair the damaged area in an hour or two.  Sometimes painting touch- ups will also be necessary. As long as these tasks are anticipated and scheduled in advance, the process will likely go very smooth. After the installation there will still be time for the plumber to reconnect the water, and the counter top installers to put the finishing touches on the overall project. Your countertop will be ready just in time to start your evening dinner and enjoy a relaxing meal in your beautiful new kitchen.
